The Quiet Corner Tea Party Patriots will host Peter Lumaj as this month’s featured speaker at our monthly “Cup-of-Tea” series of public lectures and discussion events.
Peter Lumaj is a candidate for Senator from Connecticut, and is vying for the Republican nomination against frontrunners Linda McMahon and Chris Shays. Whoever gets the GOP nomination will run in November against the Democrat nominee for the Senate seat being vacated by the retirement of Joe Lieberman.
Peter Lumaj, an attorney-at-law, was born and raised in Communist Albania. In search of freedom and opportunity, he left his homeland to settle in the United States. Peter has a very interesting story to tell, and his background has influenced his decision to run for office. From Peter’s website:
Peter Lumaj decided to run for the United States Senate because he is concerned about the future of Connecticut and of our country. He sees the United States quickly moving towards socialism. Because of his experience and exposure to other governments not receptive to American style democracy, he understands the importance of maintaining a free society where its citizens are guaranteed sovereign rights as life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness as stated in the Declaration of Independence.
This month’s Cup-of-Tea will be a great opportunity to meet Peter, to hear his story, ask him questions, and ultimately, to decide whether he warrants your vote.
Please Join us at the Quiet Corner Tea Party Patriots monthly “Cup-of-Tea” event featuring Peter Lumaj on Monday, May 14, 2012. The event will begin at 7:00pm in the Tea Room (upstairs) at Victoria Station Cafe, 91 Main Street, in Putnam, CT.
Hope to see you there!
